More than 95% of American consumers own a smartphone.

It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that Apple’s iPhone is among the most popular smartphone in the world.

In fact, there are now over 700 million people that own at least one iPhone.

We have all come to rely on our phones for social media browsing, texting, calling, and so much more.

So, when your iPhone turns off suddenly?

It can feel like a real disaster.

This post will tell you what to do if your iPhone keeps restarting.

What to Do If Your iPhone Turns Off

As much as you love your time at the Genius Bar, we know that you want to save yourself the time and expenses associated with a trip.

If your iPhone turns off on its own, whether because you have a low battery or if it just randomly happens, you’ll likely need to reset iPhone products.

To do this, all you need to do is hold down the volume down button and the sleep/wake button simultaneously.

If you have an iPhone 6s or an even older device, you should hold down the home button and the sleep/wake button simultaneously.

Keep on holding it down until the Apple logo pops up in your screen. Your screen will go totally black before this happens, so don’t panic — it’s normal.

You’ll see either a white or a black screen with the Apple. At this point, you can release the buttons you’ve been holding down.

In most cases, this will work.

If That Doesn’t Work

Of course, the previous solution doesn’t work all of the time.

In some cases, you may actually need to restore your iPhone. While this sounds scary, the process isn’t really all that complicated.

First of all, plug in your phone to your computer, and boot up iTunes. Use the same cord you use to charge your phone to connect it to your computer.

You should see the “Device” button pop up on the left of your screen. Select “Back up device” or “Back up now.”

Now, all you need to do is wait for the backup to finish. Once that’s complete, you can hit “Restore iPhone.”

Waiting for the restore to completely finish may take a few minutes. Be patient, and don’t panic.

If the problem still persists?

Unfortunately, you may need to bring it in to be diagnosed and fixed by a professional.
